STUDIO MAESTRO
Located near Lincoln Center on a tree-lined block at #48
West 68th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West, this two-year-old venture
is quickly becoming a favorite of serious young ballet students as well as adult ballet
and jazz students. Director Rose Caiola is justifiably proud of her bright, airy studios
and immaculate facilities, not to mention her excellent faculty. There is a ballet program
for ages 8-20 with classes throughout the academic year and a summer intensive, both
taught by former New York City Ballet dancer Deborah Wingert and former Paris Opera Ballet
dancer Francois Perron. New or visiting students will be asked to take a placement class.
Groups from out of town are welcome and special sessions may be arranged. Open int/adv
ballet classes are taught at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday by Johann Renvall, and the
legendary Luigi teaches open jazz classes. Workshops are held throughout the year, taught
by
members of the New York City Ballet and other major companies. Studios are available for
rentals for coaching and rehearsals. Call (212) 787-1178 for more information. Updated February 2005
Studio Maestro's reputation for
excellence has continued to grow over the years, and the studio now has its own
web site at www.studio-maestro.com.
