Welcome to the Dance-Ballet Mailing List!

Dance Ballet is a general discussion group about classical dance and ballet and related topics, made up of professional dancers, directors, students, instructors, choreographers, dance artists & photographers, studio owners and many others.

Members can contribute a message to this group by sending the message as email to a special address. The message is then automatically distributed to *ALL* of the list members (currently about 400 people) by email.

The special address is danceballet@yahoogroups.com. You must subscribe to the list (see below) to post messages. The language of the list is English, but we have many subscribers from around the world.

The Dance-Ballet Mailing List technology is provided by Yahoo! Groups.  The group home page can be found by clicking here.

DBList is NOT a DanceArt.com publication

This mailing list is an email forum that any member can contribute to, on any topic related to ballet. If you do not want to receive multiple email messages each day, then please choose the DIGEST delivery option when you subscribe.  With this option, you will only receive one email per day with all the posts made earlier that day.

My name is Tige Young, and I have no professional ballet credentials to speak of. I'm just a guy who's good with computers who also loves ballet. I'm 30 years old, and I started studying ballet at age 25.

Typically, I take 3 ballet classes, 1 private pilates lesson, and 1 rhythmic gymnastics class per week ... and maybe also rehearsals for a performance. Frequently, I will miss some of these things because I'm traveling, but you can bet that I'll be stretching and doing barre exercises in my hotel room!

I'm living proof that a recreational dancer (one who dances simply because they love to do it, instead of for a career) can be very serious and highly motivated to improve. You can reach me at tige@home.com to discuss anything ballet related, or if you're having problems with Dance-Ballet.
