Dance In Glass The five pieces showcased in the DanceArt.com gallery are appropriately named Swan Lake, Giselle, Carmen, Sleeping Beauty, and Cabriole. Marks all-time favorite of his artworks is Giselle. This includes his entire career as a glass artist, not just the ballet pieces that he has produced.
"I feel that I have never captured a subject so perfectly and so serenely as I did in that artwork [Giselle]. Although I continue to offer it for sale, I ask a hefty price for it, and I know that I will miss it when it sells. Whenever it is not on display somewhere, I generally have it hanging in my home." Giselle took Mark approximately 80 hours to complete. Other artworks may take as little as a day or as much as several months. The amount of time required to create a stained glass artwork, and hence the price, depends on the intricacy of the design, which is determined by the shapes of the pieces of glass and the number of pieces per square foot. "I feel very fortunate that I am able to make a living at something I truly love
doing. The creation of each piece is exciting in new ways. The last time I entered the
annual glass show in my area, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and a piece
depicting a Lamborghini automobile all won top awards." Stained Glass Copyright © Mark Stine |
